Acme Theatre Co Presents: The Madwoman of Chaillot
In this comic satire, a small community of bohemian street people and four imaginative women take on a powerful mining corporation mired in the soul-less complexities of high finance. Aurelia, the Madwoman of Chaillot lives in a dream world where people are good and charitable. When Paris is threatened, Aurelia organizes her cohorts to take on the evil doers, maintaining that Nothing is ever so wrong in this world that a sensible woman cant set it right in the course of an afternoon. This whimsical and poetic parable explores the power of one individuals fierce commitment to justice, and the folly of greed and war.
