Lovers and Other Strangers
A hit on Broadway and later on film, this very funny and true-to-life, five-vignette play features different couples from young ones in their twenties to one with over 40 years of marriage. Scenes include (1)Cathy having a showdown with Hal over their affair; (2) Brenda and Jerry in a planned seduction gone wrong; (3) Wilma disappointed by her husband Johnny's sexual performance and frustrated by his nightly absorption in television; (4) Mike getting cold feet on the eve of his marriage to Susan, who gently tries to talk him down the aisle; and (5) Bea and Frank, a long-married couple who have fought for over thirty years try to save their marriage of Richie, their son, and Joan, by confessing to their own failures.
