Uncivil Heart
Uncivil Heart is the story of  a trans* soldier in the civil war, and his passion for a woman who is enslaved by his family. The questions of freedom, passing, and visibility in Uncivil Heart resonate from the 1850s into our own cultural moment, as we struggle again with how power destroys love.

C. Bain is a gender-liminal writer and performer based in Brooklyn. His poetry collection, Debridement (Great Weather for Media 2015) was a finalist for the Publishing Triangle Award for Trans and Gender Variant literature. His work has been published in PANK, Muzzle Magazine, TheRumpus.net, BOOTH, and elsewhere. He is a former member and coach of several poetry slam teams. He played Ishmael in Threadbare Theratre Workshops Or, The Whale and Jokanaan in Sacred Circle Theatre Companys production of Oscar Wildes Salome. This is his first screenplay.
