Washington State AVA Wine Tasting: Series 11 Yakima Valley The Birthplace of Washington Wine
Yakima Valley established itself in 1893 as one of the first winegrowing appellations in Washington State and was one of the first official American Viticultural Areas in the country.

Today, the Yakima Valley AVA grows more than 40 different varietals of wine grapes and supplies half of Washingtons wine production including 80 different wineries. The micro climates, heat variations, and different soils types within the three Yakima Valley sub AVAs (Rattlesnake Hills, Snipes Mountain, & Red Mountain) play a major role in successfully growing the vast varieties of grapes.

You will enjoy wines from Treveri Cellars, Owen Roe Winery, Côte Bonneville Winery, Wilridge Winery, and many others. Learn the specific nuances of the soil, climate and tastes from Yakima Valley.  Light appetizers from World Trade Center Chef, Hans Reisinger, will be served.
