Read with Literacy Works Featuring Luis Urrea
Hailed by NPR as a "literary badass" and a "master storyteller with a rock and roll heart," Luis Alberto Urrea is a prolific and acclaimed writer who uses his dual-culture life experiences to explore greater themes of love, loss and triumph.
A 2005 Pulitzer Prize finalist for nonfiction and member of the Latino Literature Hall of Fame, Urrea is the critically acclaimed and best-selling author of 16 books, including Into the Beautiful North, The Devil's Highway, and The Hummingbird's Daughter.
On June 21st, Urrea will read from his work and join guests in a conversation about the themes in his writing.
Come out to The TapRoom at Lagunitas Brewing Company in Pilsen for a unique literary experience with a critically-acclaimed master. The food is on us, and the beer is on you! All beers are $5, and proceeds from beer sales go to Literacy Works.
