Tibetan Singing Bowl Concert/Meditation with Mark Handler
Handler, international meditative recording artist and certified Amrit Yoga Instructor, uses a variety of mallets to strike 100 to 500 year old Tibetan bowls to create tones that evoke joy, ecstasy, energy and deep relaxation. A large gong and multi-toned Tibetan vocal chants are also part of the concert. The Detroit News headlined his sounds as therapy for the soul. Yoga mats and chairs will be available. Guests are welcome to bring their own blankets. Some bowls and CDs will be available for purchase.
What is Sound Healing? Sound healing creates vibrations that balance prana and life force energy. These vibrations effect the body and mind, creating a profound peace that will leave you feeling wonderful. These concerts are intended to deepen yoga and meditative practices, provide stress relief and lift spirits.
The gong is capable of creating some of the broadest and most complex sound waves possible on any single acoustic instrument. It can be used to affect profound changes in the human body and its subtle energy centers. All that is required is to be still and listen, to receive a lush, multi-layered sound meditation you can get lost in, then find your way safely back, returning to the normal world refreshed, lifted, healed, and inspired!
