New to the public art process? Not sure where to begin? Increase your savvy with Spokane Arts Executive Director Laura Becker. In this three-hour informational session, Laura will cover the nuts and bolts of public art contracts, business requirements, conceptual development, and budgeting. Q and A to follow.

Executive Director of Spokane Arts, Laura Becker has managed public art projects for the Washington State Arts Commission as well as for the Seattle Department of Transportation and the Seattle Office of Arts & Culture, serving as a consulting artist, designer, and project manager. She has lectured and led workshops on public arts administration, most recently teaching at a Public Art Boot Camp for emerging artists in Seattle, WA. Having been a champion for arts and culture over the last decade, Laura has balanced leadership roles in both public arts administration and nonprofit management. Recently returning to her native Spokane, she is working on advancing an arts agenda and defining the city as the cultural hub of the Inland Northwest. Laura is a practicing artist, independent curator, and event producer and frequently enjoys having a handful of side projects to work on in tandem to her other professional pursuits.
