Herbalism 101: Berries
We'll take an afternoon trip out to pick berries and learn about their health benefits. Visit a local blueberry farm, get fresh air, anti-oxidants and bioflavenoids. Also, learn about the uses for leaves of different types of berries. This 101 herbalism class will teach you how to enjoy getting the goodness into people, from smoothies to jam to tea. Come dressed for the weather and bring: a water bottle, a container or two for collecting, and something to take notes. Class is outdoors. Family friendly. Fee for the berries you collect is separate and paid directly to the farm (it's a lot cheaper to pick your own than buy them at the store!) I'll have some samples of the things that can be made to snack on during the class.
