Artists in Resistance Showcase #3

Artists In Resistance is a bold group of local artists who reflect, expose, speak out and envision a different reality. We utilize the word, the beat, the move, the emotion, & the imagination to magnify our communitys struggle and to find new ways to speak our truth. This year, NAKA and EastSide will present Showcase #3 on June 3rd and 4th, featuring local luminaries Pearl Ubungen, Dimensions Dance Theater, Alayo Dance Company, Stephanie Bastos and Sebastian Hernandez.

Arists in Resistance/Showcase #3 is part of EastSide Arts Alliance and NAKA Dance Theater's two-year LIVEArts In Resistance/ArtesVIVAS en Resistencia initiative, a series of performances, residencies and community gatherings to deepen the understanding of racial inequity and its effects on art-making and art appreciation. LiveArts In Resistance is supported by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, and the California Arts Council's Artists Activating Communities Grant.
