Fall Retreat at Pepperwood Preserve: Exploration and Rejuvenation through Hiking, Stargazing, and Art
At this 2-day retreat, you will explore the landscapes of Pepperwood with a panoply of activities at our beautiful hill top facility. The weekend starts on Friday evening at 7pm, with an inspirational lecture by renowned author Faith Kearns, who leads us on a conversation around how we can address our fears about pressing conservation issues and communicate openly about solutions through relationship and community building.
Saturday includes a catered breakfast followed by a guided nature hike with staff member and wildlife biologist Margaret Boeger. During the hike, youll enjoy a light picnic lunch at Three Tree Hill overlooking the beautiful Geysers. The late afternoon will be spent immersed in a nature art activity with local educator and artist Kaesa Enemark. The day concludes with a catered dinner at the lovely Dwight Center, and stargazing at the Hume Observatory with California Academy of Sciences Astronomer, Bing Quock. Sunday starts with a short hike followed by a catered brunch. Participants depart at 1pm. Most of this class will be held in the field and will include hiking 1-3 miles at a slow pace. Bring a tent to sleep under the stars or sleep in the Bechtel House. Saturday breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch are included.
