The 48th Street Poetry Slam
The Onion Magazine, Pepitos Magazine and the Old Parkway Theater on 48th and Chicago come together to sponsor and produce the first of three 48th Street Poetry Slams. Come hear your world in the rhyme and reason of the urban poet.
The nationally acclaimed monologist and Standup Story teller, Colleen Kruse from FM 107 will host the three events. Along with a top local in house band. The Dale Hush Hush Band will head up the January show. Participating poets will vie for money and fame on the Parkway stage. The top five poets will share in prize money and the poet named the best of the best will carry the title "The P" for one year.
YOU MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER AND PRESENT A VALID ID AT THE DOOR. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ENTRY TO ANYONE.
