SURJ Racial Literacies Workshop: Talking To White Kids About Race
Many white people who identify deeply with the notion of race-conscious parenting and educating need support to activate and develop those racial-literacy skills.
Through role-playing, conversation, and practice, this workshop will help white parents and educators develop and activate the skills needed to build our and our childrens systemic awareness; develop the language and practice to talk about race, racism, displacement, segregation, the school to prison pipeline, and police violence with our children; and interrupt the ways we socialize white children into white supremacy at the root.
