Help Wanted - Skill Shortages in Maritime: A Conversation on K-12 Career Tech Education
From the Port of Seattle to export-dependent farmers in Eastern Washington, more than 2,100 companies make up Washington State's maritime industry. With an estimated $30 billion annual impact on our economy, the maritime industry is key to our regional prosperity and is a dependable source of solid family wage jobs. However, a growing skills shortage represents a mounting threat to growth as valuable positions go unfilled.

Meanwhile, unemployment remains stubbornly high among key demographics and regions of our state. What's behind this disconnect? Listen as maritime executives and policy experts discuss the scope of the problem and chart a course forward. The conversation will be moderated by Colleen McAleer, President of the Washington Business Alliance. Panelists include:

Scott Anderson, President of CSR Marine
