SITI Thought Center presents: CAGE CONVERSATIONS
SITI Company is diving into a new work, examining the pervasive influence of the composer/maverick/musician/writer/visual artist/theorist/chess player/anarchist/raconteur/teacher/performer/poet/innovator/mycologist John Cage. As part of our research into this figure, SITI will conduct a series of public conversations with individuals whose trajectories have been indelibly marked by the example, the work, and the life of John Cage.
The second of these conversations will feature Anne Bogart interviewing dancer and actor Valda Setterfield. Setterfield has been working in the field since the 1950s. She has recently collaborated with Ester Salamon and Christophe Wavelet on "Monument 0.1: Valda and Gus," with Pick Up Performance Co. on "Live Archiveography," and with John Scott on Lear Project. She will speak with us about her ten years of experience dancing with Merce Cunningham and working in collaboration with John Cage.
