Ally Skills Workshop
Participants will learn techniques for supporting women that are relevant everywhere: at the office, at conferences, and online. At the end of the workshop, participants will feel more confident in speaking up to support women, be more aware of the challenges facing women in their workplaces and communities, and have closer relationships with the other participants.
The course is three hours; there will be two short breaks.
Who can attend the workshop?
Anyone over 18 years of age who acknowledges that sexism exists, that it's detrimental to society, and wants to be a part of helping to end it is welcome.
Who developed the workshop curriculum?
The initial curriculum was developed by the Ada Initiative and open-sourced. Since, there have been many iterations by the organizer.
What should I bring with me?
Yourself is required. Note-taking is optional so therefore paper and a writing instrument is optional. Electronic device note-taking will not be permitted unless there is an accessibility-related reason pre-approved by the organizer.
