Great Flood of 1894 Walking Tour
June 2016 sees the 122nd anniversary of The Great Flood, which saw the Willamette River reach its record height at 33 feet. And we have a AWESOME Walking Tour coming up, visiting the sites, looking at old photos, and talking all about it!
On Tuesday, June 7th, 2016, we will meet outside of Kells at 5:00PM to begin our trip (112 SW 2nd). The Field Trip is $15, and will be limited to only 20 participants. We do this tour every year for the anniversary, and we always have tons and tons of fun. We position ourselves RIGHT where the original photo was taken, and look at the changes that have occurred over the last 122 years. And, of course, talk about that Great Flood of Biblical proportions, and the effect those poopy waters had on Portland.
Please note: The Portland Rose festival is going on at the same time so it could be a little nutty downtown but fun nutty we hope!
