Topic: Introduction to Envision Rating System
This talk will provide an introduction to the Envision rating system, with a focus on how it is being used in our region. Envision is the first national standard for sustainable planning and design of civil infrastructure projects. Attendees will learn which northwest agencies and departments have usedor are currently usingEnvision, and how they are applying it as both a planning tool and seeking project certification. Learn how Envision works, what supporting tools are available, and how it compares to other green rating systems and standards.
Speaker: Justus Stewart, O'Brien and Company
Justus supports a diverse range of private and public-sector clients with services ranging from technical assistance to strategic planning & policy to facilitation and training. Utilizing a background in urban planning and over eight years experience in municipal planning, policy, and project delivery, Justus has supported dozens of municipalities and communities throughout the Pacific Northwest in developing plans and strategies to enhance and integrate sustainability into their projects and daily operations.
Justus leads OBrien & Companys sustainable infrastructure team, which provides both standardized and custom services for measuring project performance. As faculty on OBriens education team, he develops and leads technical trainings, instructs accreditation classes for LEED and Envision, and served as Head Instructor for the Seattle-area Sustainable Building Advisor program.
