The Fit Youth Initiative is holding an informal FREE Fun Run/Walk for girls and their families! This event will include a gently used women's and girl's running/track shoe give away, thanks to the UW Women's Track Team as well as a celebration at the end of the race which includes food and tie-dye stations.
The event will leave from the Goodman Community Center and will continue down the bike path until Dempsey Road, at which point, the run will reverse and return to the Center. Participants will receive a ribbon upon completion of the run/walk. This community event emphasizes fitness through walking or jogging for girls of all ages. There will be a tie dye station at the end of the run.
Date: Saturday, July 9
Time: Run starts at 2 p.m.; Registration is at 1 p.m.
Clothes: Bring a white t-shirt. This event is free, but there is a suggested donation of $8.
Who's welcome: All students K-12 and their families, with a special emphasis on getting girls and young women involved.
