Screening is essential when identifying prospective mentors to determine whether he/she is suitable and SAFE. A comprehensive background screening of adult volunteers who want to mentor youth is a critical component for any youth-serving program. In this workshop, you will learn: 1. how to maximize the safety of youth served by your program; 2.what tactics child predators use to target victims in youth programs; 3.the warning signs to be aware of while screening and monitoring throughout the mentoring relationship; 4.how to identify red flags in your approach and what is necessary to be effective.
