The Merry Wives of Windsor
Journey back to a glitzy, exciting era with the Rogues of CST as we present one of Shakespeares most delightful comedies, The Merry Wives of Windsor, set in the roaring 20s! This updated and light-hearted production is a domestic comedy full of colorful characters a French doctor, a Welsh priest, a fat braggart, a jealous husband, some foolish suitors and 2 charming wives who keep everyone guessing! Mr. Falstaff is an outsider and he comes to the small town of Windsor thinking to fool the locals in to giving him whatever he wants. But he finds more than he bargained for in a couple of sharp-witted ladies. Plots are laid, trysts are planned, but all is not what it seems and, after Falstaff suffers the humiliations of being shoved into a dirty laundry basket and then dressed up as an old woman, he admits defeat and the townspeople come out victorious. Don't miss this happy romp through the 1920s set to a soundtrack that will have you itching to get up and Charleston!
