Event
The Vineyard Gazette - Then and Now
To mark the 170th birthday of the Vineyard Gazette, our unofficial historian Edgartown writer Tom Dunlop will provide an overview of the newspaper's colorful history, starting with its little-known founder, Edgar Marchant.
We will take you through the steps of producing a newspaper in 1846 and how it is done today. Press supervisor Jeremy Smith will conduct a special running of our press. You will leave with a souvenir issue of the Vineyard Gazette.
This will be the last Tuesdays in the Newsroom event of the off-season; we will resume again in September. Don't miss the chance to step out of the newsroom and watch the mechanics of how the paper is made!
