26th Annual Seattle International StandUp Comedy Competition
Round 1, Night 2 of the 26th Annual Seattle International StandUp Comedy Competition will be held at the Capitol Hill Arts Center's Lower Level space on Friday, November 4, 2005 at 10:30 PM
The show features a minimum of 17 professional comedians, who have come from all over North America to participate in this event. (21+)

The 26th Annual Seattle International StandUp Comedy Competition, one of the
nation's most pretigious comedy events, begins Thursday November 3, 2005.

For the first time ever, shows will be recorded for podcast by New Media
producing parther Handheld Comedy LLC based in Detroit.  Fans will be able
to download segments from their favorite comedians.

The venerable event, which in past years has featured such future stars os
Patton Oswalt ("King of Queens," "Comedians of Comedy,") and Aisha Tyler
("Ghost Whisperer," "Friends,") and even Bill Nye The Science Guy, consists
of 23 shows over 26 days in 18 different venues around the region, and
awards $15,000 in cash prizes.

Long considered a prime source for new talent, this years edition will be
attended by network executives from NBC, CBS, Disney, Bravo, and even the
talent coordinators for "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."

The Competition is an elimination contest that begins with 32 professional
comedians; the field is whittled to 10 semi-finalists, and then 5 finalists,
with the winner crowned on the final night, Monday November 28, at the
Muckleshoot Casino in Auburn.

This year's field of entries include comedians from Canada, Los Angeles, San
Francisco, San Diego, Salt Lake City, Detroit, and, of course, Seattle and
Tacoma.
