MASS APPEAL
Father Tim Farley, a lover of all good things in life, is comfortably ensconced as priest of a prosperous parish. Without realizing it, he has resorted to flattering his parishioners and entertaining them with sermons that skirt any disturbing issues, in order to protect his Mercedes, his trips abroad and the generous supply of fine wines that grace his table. His well-ordered world is disrupted by the arrival of Mark Dolson, an intense, hot-headed but idealistic young seminarian who looks to Father Farley to be his mentor, even though he challenges the older priest and causes Father Farley to question his life-long choices. Their confrontation, both funny and touching, examines the very nature of friendship, and each one is substantially changed by knowing the other.
