Compassion with Firmness: Homelessness and Community Outreach
The Lafayette Police Department, in cooperation with the Economic Development department is providing free public training on April 27th at 6:30 to 7:30 pm.
When faced with clear human needs or difficult behaviors in and around business establishments or public areas, community members want to be compassionate, but also firm -- both kind and respectful, but also to be able to successfully operate their daily business. This Q+A with the Lafayette Police Department, PATH/Street Outreach workers and the Purdue Street Team will cover a range of scenarios. Participants will be trained to respond in ways that lead to positive outcomes.
Seating is limited to 114 people.
