POST-DISASTER SAFETY EVALUATION OF BUILDINGS
The Tennessee Structural Assessment and Visual Evaluation (TNSAVE) Coalition is looking for volunteers. TNSAVE is a non-profit organization who provides trained individuals to inspect buildings and vertical structures for safety and/or occupancy following disasters such as earthquakes and tornadoes. Members can be architects, engineers, building officials, contractors and other individuals with experience in the design and construction of structures. You can join TNSAVE by visiting our website at www.tnsave.org.
To be eligible to volunteer, you must receive approved training. We will be offering our first approved training class on ATC 20/45 Procedures for Post-Disaster Safety Evaluation of Buildings on April 22, 2016, at TEMA Headquarters in Nashville. Cost to attend is $50 (plus a handling charge) if you are a member of a TNSAVE Coalition partner (ASCE, AIA, SAME, TSEA, ACEC, AGC, TSPE, and ASCE Geo-Institute) and $100 for non-members. Lunch will be provided as part of the fee. Professional development hours will be available for licensed architects and engineers. Visit www.aiamidtn.org for additional details and to sign up for the class.
