Kiss Me, Kate
Kiss Me, Kate, written by Bella and Sam Spewack with music and lyrics by Hoosier native Cole Porter, centers around egotistical actor/producer/director Fred Graham and his ex-wife, Lili Vanessi, as they star in a production of Shakespeares The Taming of the Shrew. We see Fred and Lili as they battle onstage and off, and it soon becomes clear that despite these ex-lovers claims to hate each other, they are still very much in love. Mistaken identities, some gangsters, and more romantic entanglements complete this hilarious story that earned the first Tony Award for Best Musical.
