"Tartuffe and All That Jazz"
"Tartuffe and All That Jazz" is a new adaptation of Molieres classic French comedy. We are proud to be presenting the world premiere of this new version, set in Roaring Twenties St. Louis against the backdrop of prohibition, the jazz age and fundamentalist/modernist controversies. Like the original, this version features rhymed verse dialogue and a plot centered on a religious conman named Tartuffe who bilks the wealthy but gullible Orgon and tries to seduce his wife. Gordon Bennett, one of the two playwrights, will be attending our final performance on April 16. He looks forward to interacting with audience and cast.
