A Piece of My Heart
Concluding their 15th season dedicated to the woman's voice, Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble presents A Piece of My Heart, written by Shirley Lauro. Directed by Ensemble Fellow, Victoria Alvarez-Chacon, follow the powerful accounts of 6 women-5 nurses and 1 country western singer- before, during and after the Vietnam War. Described by the Association of Vietnam Veterans of America as the most enduring play on Vietnam in the nation, CDE presents A Piece of My Heart as a fully immersive experiences utilizing all 5 senses through story-telling, movement and live music. All shows are free to Veterans and Mothers on Mother's Day.
A Piece of My Heart runs approximately two hours with one intermission.
