Among the 70 state parks slated for closure on July 1, Sugarloaf Ridge will not close, as planned. The park and all park services will remain open to the public, thanks to Team Sugarloaf, a collaboration of five partner organizations led by Sonoma Ecology Center. Comprised of dedicated volunteers from Valley of the Moon Observatory, Valley of the Moon Natural History Association, United Camps Conferences and Retreats, Sonoma County Trails Council and Sonoma Ecology Center, Team Sugarloaf will operate and maintain Sugarloaf Ridge for the next five years, ensuring public access to its trails, campgrounds and incredible vistas. Operation of the park is made possible by the generous support of our community.
