Dave & Bill's July 4th Hike @Sugarloaf Ridge SP
ADDITIONAL SPOTS AVAILABLE! Join "Dave & Bill Hikes" this July 4th for a truly unique opportunity to climb the tallest mountain in Sonoma Valley  a spectacular vantage point to view as many as 18 different fireworks displays from throughout the Bay Area!

Celebrate Independence Day  and the independence of Sugarloaf Ridge!  with a special evening hike to the top of Bald Mountain. Upon arrival at the top, guests will enjoy a Mountaintop soiree, with wine generously donated by Landmark Vineyards, snacks and sweets, amid the beautiful sights of fireworks displays that span the Bay Area  from Windsor in the north, Berkeley and Oakland in the east, San Francisco to the south, with possible views even into the south bay.

This special July 4th celebration is by reservation only, and SPACE HAS BEEN EXPANDED TO ACCOMMODATE 125 GUESTS! Price per ticket is $50, and 100% of proceeds support Team Sugarloaf's operation and maintenance of Sugarloaf Ridge.

The total distance of this moderately difficult hike is 6.5 miles round-trip and the elevation gain is 1500 feet. The return trip is all down-hill, via the road, rather than the trail.  We will begin promptly at 7pm in order to assure our arrival at the top before dark.

Plan to arrive at the end of the road with your reservation confirmation around 6:45 PM.  Please be eco-conscious and BRING YOUR OWN UNBREAKABLE WINE GLASS (OR CUP).  Remember to bring binoculars, a headlamp or flashlight, and drinking water.  Wear sturdy hiking shoes and layered clothing.  It may be very cold at the top so be prepared with warm clothing.  We will return to the parking lot at approximately 11pm.

Hurry! Make your reservation now!

Among the 70 state parks slated for closure on July 1, Sugarloaf Ridge will not close, as planned. The park and all park services will remain open to the public, thanks to Team Sugarloaf, a collaboration of five partner organizations led by Sonoma Ecology Center. Comprised of dedicated volunteers from Valley of the Moon Observatory, Valley of the Moon Natural History Association, United Camps Conferences and Retreats, Sonoma County Trails Council and Sonoma Ecology Center, Team Sugarloaf will operate and maintain Sugarloaf Ridge for the next five years, ensuring public access to its trails, campgrounds and incredible vistas. Operation of the park is made possible by the generous support of our community.
