Pique Assiette Mosaic 101
Pique Assiette Mosaic 101 is a 3-4 hour class where the student creates a 10 x 10 framed mosaic mirror or 6 x 12 plaque. Pique Assiette is a type of mosaic using broken dishes and china instead of traditional tesserae mosaic tile. Guest Artist Charlotte Voitoff guides students through the process of properly cutting china and designing to accentuate the unique patterns. All supplies are included in this workshop, but students are encouraged to bring china that may have sentimental value to add in. There will be a grouting demo and students have the option of returning to the studio at a later date to grout or take dry grout home to complete the project.
