Evening at the Garden

Friends of Kilbourn Park Organic Greenhouse will host the first annual Evening at the Garden on August 9, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Join us in this family-friendly celebration of local food and nature experienced in a unique urban setting. Chef Jeff Adamek and Pastry Chef Jennifer Templeton will create sweet and savory appetizers using fresh ingredients harvested straight from our garden.

The event will also include locally produced beer and wine.
Hans and LeRoy Bach will perform live jazz guitar of standards and originals. The silent auction will include garden themed items as well as gift certificates to area businesses.

This family-friendly fundraising event will kick off the first phase of our campaign to develop the new Nature's Playground, a natural play space within the garden, and to improve the infrastructure of the greenhouse. Our goal is to raise enough funds to build an interactive play structure in the Nature's Playground and to install circulation and exhaust fans in the main greenhouse. But this is just the beginning! We want to build momentum for the ultimate objective of a new greenhouse roof.

These initial projects will significantly improve our youth and adult educational programs and will increase the quality of plants grown for our annual plant sale. Come out for a wonderful evening in the garden and support Kilbourn Park Organic Greenhouse on August 9th. You can be a part of these exciting changes!
