About the Play
Often called the funniest farce ever written, Michaels Frayns Noises Off is a play-within-a-play, presenting a manic menagerie as a cast of actors rehearsing a sex romp hours before opening night. Lines are forgotten, love triangles unravel, gloves and clothes come off, and there are flying fish everywhere. Can the cast pull their act together on stage amidst all this pandemonium?
The New York Times once called the play the most dexterously realized comedy ever about putting on a comedy. The Wall Street Journal said If laughter is the best medicine, this flawless show is capable of curing double pneumonia. Noises Off has won the Lawrence Olivier Award for Best Play and the London Evening Standard Award for Best Comedy.
