Tahitian Dance Workshop with Hinavai - (ages 13 - Adult) Aparima & Ote'a

Te Pura O Te Rahura'a is excited to welcome Hinavai, awarded Best Female Dancer at the 2015 Heiva I Tahiti, to our studio!!! She will be holding a workshop for Intermediate and Advanced level vahine (female) Tahitian dancers. Hinavai will be teaching an Aparima and an Ote'a.

Here is more about Hinavai:
Hinavai Raveino was born on March 28, 1992 and was raised on the island of Tahiti. She began dancing at 5 years old at the Conservatory of Tahiti, Conservatoire Artistique de La Polynésie Française Te Fare Upa Rau, under the direction of Vanina Ehu and Mamie Louise. Hinavai has passed all of the exams and became a dance instructor at the Conservatory in 2011. Hinavai has experience dancing and competing with many Tahitian troops including Hitireva, Toa Reva, Toa Hiva, and Teva I Tai. She was the selected soloist to represent the troop Hitireva in the Heiva I Tahiti in 2012. Hinavai was also chosen to be the soloist dancer with Teva I Tai and won the prestigious title of Best Female Dancer "Meilleure Danseuse" in last year's Heiva 2015! Hinavai has also opened her own Ori Tahiti School in the peninsula of Tahiti, however, has stopped teaching temporarily to focus on her other dance work as an instructor at the Conservatory and flying overseas to teach workshops. Hinavai is currently choreographing a future show project this May fusing classic dance and Tahitian dance.
