Learn Burlesque from Jeez Loueez!
Have you always wanted to get involved with a PeepshowTO production? Looking to sharpen your skills and prepare to pitch an act for the next round of shows? Burlesque hopefuls & current performers alike - look no further!
Jeez Loueez is an award-winning burlesque performer, actor, emcee, and instructor from Chicago and she is in town as a very special guest for PeepshowTO's "Spielberg-lesque"! She is known as "The Powerhouse of the Midwest" and she was voted #4 in the Top 50 Burlesque Performers for 2015!
Not only can you come watch her work the stage on Saturday, March 5th at The Great Hall (Tickets sold separately) but you can also learn from the best if you secure a spot in her Dance Making & Musicality for Beginners class on Sunday, March 6th.
This performance movement class is for beginning dancers struggling with creating choreography.
Jeez will focus on three sections:
1) Musicality
2) Transitions & Phrases
3) Counts vs Words vs Music
Using various pieces of music as the inspiration, this class will explore how to choreograph to the many layers of a musical track and work through creative blocks and transitions. Students will use a short piece of choreography to explore exercises and games designed for dance making.
-Tickets: $20
-Class Runs from 3:00-4:00pm
-Location is Afro Latino Dance Company (901 Yonge St)
-Wear comfy, form fitting, workout or dance attire.
-Bring paper/pen for note taking.
