Mindful Leadership Retreat
Join us for an informative and personally-renewing workshop on Mindful Leadership. After a refreshing opening with gentle yoga and meditation, we will explore central practices of the Evergreen Leaders Project: HeartMath techniques, methods for making public meetings healthier, cross-cultural resilience tips, and three techniques for more effective meetings.
We will close with earth-friendly potluck refreshments. EVERGREEN LEADERS PROJECT Elizabeth Emerson, M.A., Project Coordinator, is the author of the upcoming guide: Help Your Body Cope with Your Career: Save Your Back, Heart, and Sanity! Emerson has supported elected leaders in local and state governments while working on collaborative environmental and public health issues for 25 years. Emerson has presented on public health topics for the World Health Organization on five continents, and provided workshops for many organizations including the Advocacy Institute in Washington, D.C. She is the 2012 Marin recipient of the Human Rights Commission's Humanitarian of the Year award.
Theo Tsoukalas, Ph.D., Science Editor holds a certificate in post-doctoral health policy studies from the University of Californias School of Medicine, where he held a research fellowship and served as a member of the faculty. Dr. Tsoukalas also served on the faculty at the University of Californias School of Nursing. His studies on long-term care policies have been published in national and international public health and disease prevention journals. Dr. Tsoukalas has provided technical and scientific support to governmental agencies and officials in the U.S., Europe, East Asia, and the World Health Organization.
Elizabeth & Theo are both certified Institute of HeartMath resilience trainers.
FACILITATOR Stuart Moody, M.A., is program director of Green Sangha. He co-founded and directed the Rethinking Plastics campaign, and served as Green Schoolyard Coordinator at Davidson Middle School in San Rafael. He is Trainer for the Mindful Ambassadors program at the University of Arizona and is providing Mindful Leadership training in the Bay Area as well as southern Arizona. Stuart is a certified yoga instructor and will complete his somatic yoga teacher training this spring.
