The Amistad Story - commemorating the 175th Anniversary of the Amistad Africans' winning their Freedom in the US Supreme Court

Join NLMS head docent Bill LaRoue for some of his favorite New London stories on Sundays at 2 PM. Tours of the exhibitions are available after the program.

On Sunday, March 6, Bill tells the story of the Amistad Africans who, 175 years ago, won their freedom to return to Africa in the first human rights case to be tried and won before the US Supreme Court. (for more information see http://www.nlmaritimesociety.org/Amistad---Abolition.html
