SMACKDOWN! The 24 Hour Musical Contest
SMACKDOWN! The 24 Hour Musical Contest is an extraordinary event where talented teams of performance artists, writers and musicians are given 24 hours to write, stage and perform a musical from scratch. Teams will be given a piano and a rehearsal room and a few 'surprise' elements they must incorporate into their creation. At stake are prizes, bragging rights and the grand prize of $500 and help from Awkward Stage Productions to develop the winning musical! A panel of local theater notables will be the judges: Kevin Michael Cripps, Katrina Dunn, Sarah Wolfman Robichaud, Daniel Maté and Anton Lipovetsky. AND YOU CAN WATCH! At the end of the 24 hours the world premieres begin. You can watch just the show OR you can also watch the process!
