Burqavaganza by Shahid Nadeem
RasaNova Theater & Friends of South Asia (FOSA) in association with Footloose at Shotwell Studios Present Burqavaganza by Shahid Nadeem: A Workshop Performance Directed by Vidhu Singh
A love story in the time of jihad, Burqavaganza, is a provocative political satire that uses the burqa as a symbol of a society that thrives on double standards and covering up the truth. Naturally, the play ruffled a lot of fundamentalist feathers and was banned in Pakistan. Burqavaganza is written by Pakistan's most prolific and progressive playwright, Shahid Nadeem, co-founder of Ajoka Theatre.
