Nachoem M. Wijnberg The Jews & Divan of Ghalib

Nachoem M. Wijnberg (1961) is a poet and novelist who has been acclaimed as one of the foremost Dutch authors of the last decades. Since 1989 he has published more than twenty volumes of prose and poetry, picking up major Dutch literary awards. His poetry has been widely translated, being published in English, French, German, Chinese, and Italian, among other languages. A rst anthology in English was translated by David Colmer under the title Advance Payment (Anvil Press, 2013), who also translated the recent volume Divan of Ghalib (White Wine Press, 2016). The Jews, translated by Vincent W.J. van Ger- ven Oei (punctum books, 2016) is his rst novel to appear in English. Wijnberg will present a reading from both recent publications.
