Deckle Edge Workshop - Storyboard America
About the Workshop:
Whether you're a writer or not, Storyboard America workshops show you how to capture and share a moment of your life. Susan Kammeraad-Campbell, publisher and editor in chief of Joggling Board Press, takes the scary out of writing, offering pathways and creative tools to help you get to your own memories through your five senses and make you a better writer. If you want to tell your story but don't know where to start or if you're blocked, Storyboard workshops get you writing! You will leave the workshop with the making of a "pearl"  a brief captured moment of your life. You will have, in hand, tools to keep you writing and a pathway to audio record your moment in your own voice and include it in the permanent archive of your local library and, possibly, broadcast on radio. Says Pat Conroy, "This is an important idea with legs." Says workshop participant Jessie Blevins, "This workshop changed my life."

About the Instructor:
Susan Kammeraad-Campbell, publisher and editor in chief of Joggling Board Press, has guided more than 30 books from concept to publication, many of them earning top regional and national awards. She is the award-winning author of "Edisto River" and "Doc," which became an NBC movie. Drawing from her background in journalism, radio and community resilience, Kammeraad-Campbell created Storyboard America (www.storyboardamerica.org). "Our stories help us make sense of our world  they tell us who we were, who we are and who we can be." Storyboard, a national initiative, is being piloted in South Carolina with funding support from the S.C. Humanities Council.
