El Hijo Prodigo
One Night Only! A special fundraiser performance at West of Lenin Saturday June 9th at 8pm.
El Hijo Prodigo tells the story of a man's return to his native Puerto Rico after an absence of 22 years. He is soon reunited with - and beguiled by - the history and culture of the island state he once called home. This five-day headlong rush into his ancestral community culminates with the chance for him to face his life, home and family and see them for what they really are. A journey through the island's music, mores, legends, people and traditions, El Hijo Prodigo brings to life the joys and sorrows of a Commonwealth barely 1100 miles from our shores.
Written and performed by Jose' Amador. Directed by Mark Fullerton
