Emerging Artists Theatre Presents:|
Written & Performed by Heather Harpham
Saturday, March 5th, 2016 at 9:00pm
BURNING is a highly kinetic, semi-comic romp through the absurd landscapes of climate change where comedy, tragedy, activism and cautious optimism collide. Using movement, song, monologue, and otherworldly images -- the pieces pings between Hurricane Sandy, our obsession with apocalyptic movies, NPR's narcoleptic effect, and the million trivial tasks that preoccupy us while Rome burns.
Part of the "Best of the New Works Series," benefiting the 2016 New Works Series.
February 29th through March 20th, 2016
All tickets are $20
All performances at:
15 West 28th St, 2nd floor
Between Broadway and 5th Avenue
Curators: Paul Adams, Derek Jamison, Scott Klavan, Scott Raker, Vanessa Shealy Younger
Emerging Artists returns with their one-of-a-kind festival, kicking off with a week of "Best of" encore performances from the last 3 years. Visit the theater any evening during this three-week event, and you'll find yourself transported in a number of surprising ways: by a single performer embodying a whole host of characters; by a more experimental theater piece "done differently" that challenges and delights; by a cozy two-person show exploring relationships; or perhaps by a bouncy new musical that will have you humming. Emerging Artists has always been about new works, new talents, new voices. That's never been more evident than now.
