Cellar Sessions
Another magical Sunday afternoon in the barrel room at Old Oak Cellars in Pasadena on February 14, 2016.
Complimentary Wine tasting begins at 3pm followed by songs from Jeanne Newhall at 3:45. Then at 4:30, you will have yourself a sweet Valentine dose of spirited music and banter with Mitch and Rosa!
Mitch Grainger hails from Sydney, Australia and Rosa Pullman from Ithaca, New York. The two met in Los Angeles and have been combining their love for traditional American roots music and blues for a number of years now. They had a band called The Lovers for a while and are now recording and performing under their own names separately but love playing together when they get the chance, and will always love playing in Pasadena where they had their first gig ever! Its great fun to behold them as they journey through classic songs, their own compositions, and various stories they have collected along the way. You will have yourself a sweet Valentine dose of spirited music and banter with Mitch and Rosa!
Acclaimed songwriter, singer and Steinway & Sons pianist, Jeanne Newhall dances freely between folk, pop, r&b, country, and jazz with a classically-trained musician's ear. Her explorations reveal themselves in her distinctive emotional voice that gets to the very heart and soul of a lyric and the immaculately nuanced notes of her piano. Her music presents a myriad of musical gems that defy glib classifications and just fall into the essential music category.
