VA is an accomplished jazz vocalist who often spices up her shows with world music influences from her own vocal exploration and of circle singing, which she studied under legendary Bobby McFerrin. Whether straight- ahead or free improvisation, VA brings emotional connectivity to her work as a performing artist. Receiving global airplay, she also appears regularly in Atlanta's top jazz and music venues. Both sitting in with artists and fronting her own quartet, VA has gained a reputation as a singer who is having a major impact on both the local scene, nationwide, and internationally.
VA's recent appearances have been in New York & Seattle for a play with totally improvised music, "The Gift", with aerial dancers at The Robert Mondavi Ctr/UC-Davis, and at the Western NC Jazz Series in Asheville, NC.
VA takes listeners on a pilgrimage with music that is both authentic and soul-inspiring. It's a journey you'll want to take.
