A 2012 Pulitzer Prize Finalist and winner of the 2012 Drama Critics Circle, Outer Critics Circle, Lucille Lortel and Hull-Warriner Awards for Best Play, SONS OF THE PROPHET is a comedy about human suffering that explores the inevitability of loss and our attempts to cope with its consequences. The play revolves around the tribulations of Joseph Douaihy whose family emigrated from Lebanon, settled in Nazareth PA and are distantly related to Kahlil Gibran. Joseph is challenged by his father's recent death, his brother Charles' grieving process, taking care of his aging uncle, obtaining a diagnosis for his own mysterious illness and negotiating his new romance with Timothy a reporter who is covering the controversial circumstances of Joseph's father's death.
