Hafla for Humanity Minneapolis: Fundraiser for Syrian Refugee Relief-ONLINE
Fundraiser to benefit humanitarian aid and assistance to Syrian refugees and victims of war trauma. An in-person event and show was hosted by Mirah Ammal of Al-Bahira Dance Theater on January 15, 2016 and featured a show with presentations by local artists including Mirah Ammal & Al-Bahira Dance Theater, Jawaahir Dance Company, Sendero Flamenco, Rene Dennis Thomas Cuban Dancing, and other soloists and groups with an introduction by Lila El-Tawaly of the Egyptian American Society. Ansari's Mediterranean Grill, Bill's Imported Foods and Marina Deli donated to the refreshments, and information about Syrian relief efforts and other charitable organizations working to provide assistance to the refugees where they are today.
To help reach the fundraising goal for this event and to accommodate people who were interested but unable to make the event, we've decided to extend the donations deadline through Tuesday January 19.
Funds raised through these in-person and online events benefit the International Refugee Committee work with Syrian refugees in Syria and surrounding countries.
This event is part of a global Hafla for Humanity movement to raise awareness and funds to aid refugees.
