Lenore Raphael w/Hilliard Greene
Lenore Raphael, is an internationally renowned jazz Pianist, Steinway artist and jazz teacher.
She has performed in major jazz clubs and festivalsDizzy's at Jazz At Lincoln Center (3 times), The Blue Note (NYC), Ottawa International Jazz Festival, Ronnie Scott's in London, The S.S. Oosterdam jazz cruise, and many more. She was one of three featured internationally renowned pianists including Ahmad Jamal and Abdullah Ibraham, at the Joy Of Jazz festival in Johannesburg, South Africa. Lenore also performed at the Casa Da Musica in Porto Portugal and at The Broward Center for the Arts Amaturo theater in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She has performed regularly in England for 8 years and in Israel this year.
With 10 recordings on the Swingin' Fox Music label, her 2012 album "LOVE NOTES" a tribute to Oscar Peterson was voted by the BBC as best international jazz recording.
Lenore has her own radio show "Lenore Raphael's JazzSpot" on PureJazzRadio and on JazzLondonradio.
Hilliard Greene has been performing music internationally for more than 30 years and has been playing professionally over twenty. Greene studied at the University of Northern Iowa and Berklee College of Music. Greene has performed/recorded/toured with Jimmy Scott, serving as his bassist/Musical Director and with Cecil Taylor where he was Concert Master for his group "Phtongos". He is currently a full-time faculty member at the Bass Collective in New York City and staff bassist at Minton's in Harlem a.k.a. Minton's Playhouse. Hilliard Greene has recently formed The In&Out Band, a trio using jazz standards as a vehicle for free improvisation. Also, he is co-leader of the classical crossover ensemble ZigZag Quartet. He produced three CD's with his own ensemble The Jazz Expressions, a solo bass CD entitled "Alone", and co-produced self-titled ZigZag Quartet CD. He is featured on 50 plus CD's as a sideman.
