Introduction to Theatre Winter 2016
Kids in 1st-5th grade will have the opportunity to learn all about theatre with games and activities that teach the various elements of acting and theatre.
Winter 2016 Semester schedule:
5:00-6:15 pm
Tuesdays, February 2 - March 15 (for 1st-3rd graders)
March 22: Showcase performance for parents and friends!
5:00-6:15 pm
Wednesdays, February 3 - March 16 (for 3rd-5th graders)
March 23: Showcase performance for parents and friends!
Learning topics include: movement, voice, stage presence, stage direction, using imagination, storytelling, basic stagecraft, characterization, script analysis, etc.
Instructor: Jerry Jascoviak
Jerry holds a BA in Theatre from Valparaiso University and has taught theatre to children in both Griffith and Michigan City. He also performs and directs at a variety of local theatres. His teaching philosophy is one of nurturing children interested in theatrical arts. He finds it both personally rewarding and soul-energizing for all involved.
