"GOING TO ST. IVES" by Lee Blessing

                                                directed by Regina V. Fields

with Ayodele Nzinga & Sylvia Burdoeck

May N'Kame, the mother of an murderous dictator, travels to England to see world renowned eye surgeon Dr Cora Gage about treatment for her failing eyesight. She returns to her house in Africa with everything she bargained for, including the poison to kill her son. May is a seeker of goods and services, and Cora the provider, but there is much more involved in their coming together than healing on the one hand, and the means for murder on the other. A bereaved and guilt ridden mother due to the untimely death of her own son, Cora bargains for the release of four condemned African physicians whose crime is their refusal to treat victims tortured by May's son. Each woman extracts truth from each other and each gains what she wants, but the personal and political costs are brutal.

"GOING TO ST. IVES" is the spellbinding story of two woman brought together by the personal and divided by the political, as they both seek to accomplish the greater good.
