Violence. Love. They coexist in a teetering balance for our champion boxer, who tells his story to an unseen reporter. Complex family dynamics led him to his calling as a professional fighter despite the death of his brother and his father's resulting grief, or perhaps because of them. This gritty, poetic piece explores how we are forged as adults from the trials of our youth.
